PyCon Latam 2019

Campus

PyCon Latam was held in the city of Puerto Vallarta, based at the Friendly Vallarta hotel.

By staying attendees at the headquarters hotel I facilitate their coexistence, while saving time and money on transfers.

The hotel has policies on caring for the environment, which facilitated that during PyCon Latam no disposable products were used.


Pricing

The conference ticket included accommodation for 4 days and 3 nights in an all-inclusive plan, prices vary depending on room occupancy.

  • Single - $ 2,499 MXN
  • Double - $ 1,699 MXN
  • Triple - $ 1,599 MXN
  • Quadruple - $ 1,549 MXN
  • Minor - $ 1,165 MXN

This price is per night, per person.

A preferential price of - $ 1,500.00 was offered for local attendees, which did not include hotel stays.

Sponsorship and donations

There was financial support from the Python Software Foundation, whose donation was used in full to provide full scholarships to 30 of the conference attendees.

The event was sponsored by: Linode, GitHub, Elastic, Microsoft, Intel, Sherpany, Paykii, Ensitech, Read the Docs y Cinefonik.

O´Reilly kindly donated books to be raffled among the volunteers.

There were also private donations from different members of the community.

Code of conduct

The event had a formally established code of conduct.

The conference was without incident reported.


Financial Aid


A total of 114 applications were received to obtain a scholarship.

It was possible to award a total of 36 scholarships, which included:

  • Access to conferences and workshop.
  • Stay for 4 days and 3 nights in an all-inclusive plan.

The local attendees were offered a special price of $ 1,500.00 mx (about $78 USD at time of exchange), this cost did not include accommodation.
